In short
This is a parent-run app for St. Gabriel's School families. It is not an official school app. There is no tracking, no advertising and no analytics.
What you'll see about children
Children are shown by first name only. Birthdays show day and month only (no year). Class information is only sent to phones that have entered that class's passcode, and the check happens on our server, not in the page.
If you'd rather your child not be listed, message your class rep or Shalana and we'll remove them.
What we store about you
- Your class unlock: a signed, secure cookie on your phone saying which classes you've unlocked. We don't know who you are.
- Alerts (only if you turn them on): your phone's push address (provided by Apple, Google or Mozilla) and which classes you follow, so each update reaches you once. Turn alerts off in More and it's deleted.
- On your phone only: which updates you've read, and a saved copy of the last info so the app works offline.
What we don't collect
No names, emails or phone numbers of parents. The app stores no phone numbers at all, not even reps’. Absence reports, swim-bus notes and feedback open WhatsApp on your phone with a pre-filled message. Nothing is sent or stored by this app, and nothing goes until you tap send in WhatsApp.
Who posts
Class reps post to their own class; the PTA posts school-wide. Each rep has their own login. Posts, photos and class pages are stored on Cloudflare (our hosting provider).
Questions or removal
Contact your class rep or Shalana (the parent who maintains the app). This app aims to follow the Barbados Data Protection Act 2019: only what's needed, kept secure, and removed on request.
